Hey yall! It’s Autumn back with another post!
Before I get started, this post is in collaboration with Paris, so be sure to check out her Valentine’s Day look and follow her if you aren’t already!
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m living up the single life for yet another Valentine’s Day… gotta love it. That being said, I don’t have any big plans coming up but this is just a little look I put together. I was going for an outfit I would wear to a very nice dinner and then a glam, neutral look since the dress is so simple in color.
For the makeup look I’m just going to focus on the eyes. If yall would like a more in depth look at how I do my face makeup, let me know in the comments!
I was trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and try something new. I wanted to attempt a cut crease look. Bare with me because this is my very first time trying it. I’ve seen Jaclyn Hill and Jackie Aina do them recently so I thought why not give it a try.
In the crease I used the darkest brown shade from my Smashbox Full Exposure travel size palette ($24). I then used Whiskey (the matte brown) from the Naked Smoky palette ($52) over and slightly under that. Any shadow that got on my lid, I just used a q-tip and some eye makeup remover to quickly remove it.
For the lid, I first started with Combust from the Naked Smoky palette as a base. Then comes my favorite part… STILA METALLIC FOILED EYE SHADOW ($32)! So here’s the funny thing.. I have actually owned this shadow since September but this is my first time actually using it. I’ve been wanting to buy it just because it’s so gorgeous but I for one was a little intimidated by it. You can either use it as is or put a few drops of the solution it comes with on top to use it wet for an even bolder, more dramatic look. For this look I decided to use it wet just for that extra pop. Due to my lighting it looks very gold in this picture, but it is actually more copper/bronze. Game Face by Colorpop is a great dupe for this as well. Just because I haven’t used this palette either, I decided to pack a little bit of Rose Gold from my Lorac Metal Pro palette ($28) into my inner lid.
Then I continued with my usual winged liner using the Maybelline line stiletto liquid liner ($8) and my all time favorite mascara… Great Lash ($5). I know it’s the most basic of basic mascaras but I love it better than any high end mascara I’ve ever tried. Here’s the completed look!
For my outfit I just went with a fitted white lace dress. I bought this last year at a store called Scarlett that’s in the mall nearest to me back home. Unfortunately, I have no information on this dress and I’m not even sure if any other malls have a Scarlett. I paired it with a black pair of Steve Madden heels. I decided not to go with a necklace because I felt that with the dramatic eye look and the lace pattern on the dress, it would just be too much.
That’s my completed outfit and makeup look! I hope all of you have a fantastic Valentine’s Day whether you’re spending it with friends or with your loved one. Thanks for reading! Please let me know what you thought in the comments down below
